The initial idea for this feature’s story led to a very inspired direction from the dean. As much as a challenge it is to bring stories and ideas to life, to make them accessible and interesting for all audiences, through content and visuals, I believe in those moments of inspiration. To "Let inspiration lead you wherever it wants to lead you."
After working with faculty in the Humanities on the question “What is Truth?” we came to the conclusion that some of the content was too collegiate and not easily translated to a lay audience. Thus the art had to save the day.

The Nitty Gritty, the details and Royce
Boom, Inspo!
Royce Hall is often used to represent the division of the UCLA Humanities, which stems from many Humanities departments being housed in Royce. As we spoke about the idea “What is Truth?” a quote above a set of doors at Royce was referenced. As much as I kept hunting for other light bulbs, the lesson here… sometimes the lightbulb is right in front of you, you just have to be ready to see it.
