This feature was inspired by the research underway in the physical sciences at UCLA and in particular, inspired to highlight the people behind that research. It was an ambitious undertaking. From ideation, to concept, from selecting 12 faculty members out of 100s, scheduling, finding the perfect photo shoot location, to lighting and set up, to broken lighting and duck tape. Hours of research for interview prep and inspiring content, research from the subatomic to the supermassive, and a lot of research for layman terms/translations. 8 days of photoshoots, 12 interviews later, we authentically captured some amazing moments with some of the scientists behind the research at UCLA. I am so grateful for this experience and opportunity, grateful to have had my boss that always allowed me to run with ideas, with ambitious undertakings.
